Need help with musical style? 10 POINTS!!!!?!
Question: I need help with my musical style. I am lead singer and rhythm guitarist in my band. I listen to alternative, heavy metal, grunge and hard rock. In terms of musical style with singing and playing I want to be sort of like a cross between Anthony Kiedis, Kurt Cobain and John Frusciante.

Never try to emulate anyone or any mix of singers. Don't fall out of some mold either. Just be yourself. You have to stand out from the rest and just roll with it. Sure you can be influenced by any number of artists but trying to be like them is impossible.
I would say alternative as one could lump grunge into that category also. Try listening to some jazz and some blues and incoperate that into your music. Where do you think Flea comes up with those funky bad a** bass parts?

I would absolute love someone to combine some rock with some serious ska music. its quite old but, ska should come back in it is mind blowing
