Question: first of all... i believe it was onerepublic who wrote apologize, but for some reason everyone is giving timbaland credit for it. and girlfriend is a terrible song. so i vote apologize

I prefer Girlfriend, but Apologize has more meaning and it sounds more genuine, not as 'pop' and the music is really lovely.

Personally I think their both absolutely crap.
Avril Lavigne has turned girly pop punk and just moved herself into a scene where her managers think she'll get more publicity because a lot more people have moved:
either from rock to pop
or just general idiots that like pop.
I reckon she doesnt even like the way she is now. Or maybe its just her marriage thats made her unbelievably cocky.
And Timbaland? He totally RUINED that track. And what does he do with it? Just sing a few 'oh's and 'ah's here and there.

apologize by one republic... its great that timbaland has perhaps brought them more to the surface--but all he does is say "ey ey" on the track and he gets "timbaland featuring one republic"!
Apologize is good but that's only because Timbaland remixed it. The original sounds bad, IMO. Girlfriend, just sucked, period.
PS: "Apologize" is really by OneRepublic.
