What are all of the possible intervals (and names)?!


Question: ('M' is major, 'm' is minor and 'P' is perfect)

P 8ve

can you even get minors of a Perfect? (eg. minor 8ve or minor 4th?)

what is augmented (give all possibles)
and
what is diminished (give all possibles)

ok: on 4ths, 5ths and 8ths you can have perfect, augmented, or diminished. unisons can only be perfect.

augmented - one semitone above major
diminished - one semitone below minor

no you cant get minors of a perfect, note the perfect. and the others....im only grade 6 this year so i dont know but i have them somewhere.....somewhere....

I believe MaxDent is right about the intervals. But augmented and diminished refer mor to chords than intervals. A basic major chord is a major third and a minor third (like C E G). A minor chord is a minor third and a major third (C E flat G). An augmented chord is a major third and a major third (C E G sharp). A diminished chord is a minor third and a minor third (C E flat G flat). Hope this helps.
