Who thinks old guitars & amps sound better then new guitars & amps ?!

Question: I think it's personal preference. And just because the equipment is older doesn't mean it's better. There were some craptacular items manufactured way back when, and they probably don't sound much better now.

For me, as long as I have a good guitar and a decent tube amp, I'm good to go. They don't have to be older.

I do.

I think it depends on what music you are into. I like the sound of newer guitars and amps because I like newer bands such as Muse, but if you like older music then old amps and guitars are for you.

I do.
One of the more recent British bands {I forget which one} actually asked to record their debut album using old Marshal speakers, because they prefered the sound.

Without a doubt. I think a good old amp with old tubes sounds way better than something new. The 2 primary amps I use are from the 60's--one's a Silvertone 1472 and the other is an old kent that I hotrodded and sounds great. I've got an old Ibanez AD-9 analog delay pedal too. A dude that I play with has a Boss digital delay--it's a decent pedal, but the analog "warmth" isn't there.
