you think too much. listen to the music and enjoy it for what it is. i could really care less what genre the music is and don't care if the band is mainstream/pop or not. i don't use that crap to determine if i like the music or not (like some other close-minded d-bags). if it sounds good, i will like it. also MCR and paramore are actually very talented bands. they are all very good musicians and they sound very good live. give them a try and don't hate on them just because they have a huge fanbase. unfortunately the majority of the fanbase is made up of mtv crazy 13 yr. old boys & girls obsessed w/ pop. but hey what are you going to do about it? i'll still like the music for what it is

Rebellious Renegades.

Musicians that broke the rules. Innovators that re-invented music, or broke out a new genre. Thats what I consider Rock.

Ramones
Led Zeppelin
Nirvana
Johnny Cash

Just to name a few.

for once don't include doors, led zeppelin, together with FOB, BFMV on one list.

completely different times of rock, music, and completely different fans.

FOB, and other Emo is just a kids TREND. it comes anf goes away

doors and LZ will stay because their influence on rock music

i don't see any influence on rock music from EMO bands beside that some of fans are very obsessive

Being creative and enjoying making and listening to music.

A piece of pebble broken off from a large piece of stone. Thats what rock means to me.

*gigglesnort*

I don't care about people on Y!A who claim that so-called- "emo" music is a trend and all that. I think thats stupid to think like that because its been pretty popular for a while, right?

I'd have to say Flyleaf and Paramore are GREAT actually, amazenly awesome bands.

Lacey and Hayley both show that girls CAN be in bands and sure, Paramore may not be rock but they are still in a form of rock (alternative punk, I think) but everyone has their own opinions. They are also both postitive role models who do alot in the band. I know that they BOTH write the lyrics from past experiances and I think that's great. :) Josh (Guitarist of Paramore) and Hayley also both write the harmonies and melodies. I'm not sure about Flyleaf.

I hate when people just think Hayley's all of Paramore or Lacey's all of Flyleaf. Because there's the rest of the band too. But I'm using them both as an example. And I also describe rock as well..music?
Because music is something that you most likely will be able to relate to and/or enjoy.

And edit: I agree with svuong11. Thats how I eactly feel. :) And I listen to hardcore stuff to but I think FOB is more pop than Paramore.
