Elvis, Willy, or someone else - Who did it better? (Song)?!

Question: There's a song called "Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues". It goes like this...

------

You know my heart keeps tellin' me
You're not a kid at thirty-three
Play around you'll lose your wife
You play too hard you'll lose your life

Some gotta win, some gotta lose
Good time Charlie's got the blues...

-----

Original artist: Danny O'Keefe. Other recording by: Charlie McCoy; Jerry Lee Lewis; B. J. Thomas; Willie Nelson; Charlie Rich, Leon Russell; Joe Simon; Dwight Yoakam; Chris Hillman, Elvis Presley, and Willie Nelson.

The best version, in your opinion, gets 10 points.

I'll have to go with Danny O'Keefe-- the version you hear first sort of sticks with you. I adore Willie and would listen to him sing the phone book if he were so inclined, but on this song I'd have to give him third place. Second would be Jerry Lee-- you just feel ol' Jer's lived it. Plus it's a good companion piece to "Middle Aged Crazy."

Willy of course :)
