I believe Eminem has evolved the most as a lyricist and rapper. Listening to all of his albums from the very beginning, Infinite up through Encore (Curtain Call, was greatest hits), it so clearly demonstrates his growth as a person, from being a young man to a father, husband, divorcee, friend, and with each album he has made, each has done better than the last. He ranges from songs about drugs, family, celebrity status, love, hard times, his childhood, his fatherhood. I feel he is the most well-rounded rapper out there, at least mainstream. He is also real too, he is not afraid to confront his past and the people who offended him, he speaks his mind on religion and politics, he does not just rap about hoes, sex, gold, and money. He extends far beyond that. He has worked with amazing people, and continues to develop other rap careers, to me he is just an amazing person. He could have become very superficial with wealth he accumulated, but he didn't, he has stayed true to himself. His lyrics to describe all of this are just phenomenal too. EMINEM

  • I would say Kanye West because I can't say Lupe Fiasco

    The Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    he the man..

    Kanye West

Lil wayne always gets better at his songs his voice is excellent

I would vote for Kanye, his overall album production has steadly gotten better. I mean there are great tracks on the first two albums. But the skits on "The College Dropout" and "Late Registration" are out of place, and make you skip tracks. "Graduation" is a masterpiece.

    Tupac

Kanye has really stepped it up with each album, even though Colege Dropout is my favorite of all three.

I think Talib Kweli has improved too, I love Quality and Reflection Eternal, but Eardrum what I feel is a different and better kind of Kweli, basically because of the knowledge he has gained over the years between the Black Star album and now.

Edit: Common has gotten better too I agree, compare Can I Borrow A Dolla? to Finding Forever (I'm not really including Electric Circus)

its between lil wanye, kanye west, or lupe fiasco but lupe fiasco new record is the best record i have ever heard

    **** snoop dogg,

    COMMON...best rapper alive today

    Kanye.

no doubt about it. lil wayne his lyrics go hard. im tellin u his song fly in off da carter 2 is off da chains. and my enemies.
snoop dogg is so whack. i dont see why nobody thinks his rhymes go hard.

    Jay-Z, Nas, Ludacris.

    Cassidy

    I agree with ant...Tupac.

Snoop Dog. I like his latest song "sensual seduction", it's more civilized.
