Hello people! do you think some fan obsession with MCR can actually kill the ban!
Question: Yes. Especially if its a lot like MCR. Fan bases can truly stop more people from liking the band because they find their fanbase hostile,and overly obsessed with ridiculous behaviors,and actions caused by them. As a result they are thinking they do not want to end up like them so they stay away from them, if they are smart enough. But I don't like fan obsession. It makes a band look bad really. So I stick to Underground bands that have a very tiny but true fanbase. I think a band would rather have a small fanbase that is true to their music than a overly huge fanbase but only know one of their songs or are doing it just to fit in for the trend.

EDIT: You have to check this out. Gerald & Frankie are kissing but usually I would think that it would have a bad reputation on their band, and their fanbase would hate them. But surprisingly their fanbase reacted to them more obsessed and actually increased their reputation greater. I'm shocked...just disguisting. Lol.

I wish I was still one of the only people I knew that liked them. I dont care for the Black Parade at all. I still remember the first time I heard Early Sunsets Over Monroeville from their first album a long LONG time ago back in late 2002 when I was in my freshman year. I'm glad they've gotten succes but it kind of kills it for me when even your grandma knows who MCR is.....

i don't c how a fans obsession with mcr or with any other band for that matter can harm the group.they'll keep on bringin out tunes and carry on giggin.and people will still buy their music and tickets.don't u think that other bands,artists thru-out time have had obsessed fans but the party still goes on.it has 2..
actually yea i do. i absolutly love MCR. ever since their first album "i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love". i love everything they STAND FOR. i'm so tired of seeing MCR fans posting questions saying "aww gerard is soo yummy!" and "OMG! MCR MCR MCR!" i swear, the whole band has developed an age group of 3 years old! i'm not speaking of every MCR fan. because most of them on Y!A are real fans. and i like that. but i see a few that i know arent for the music. and MCR is probably going to collapse down because of these people. they have already "killed" the black parade because of it.
but i do LOVE MCR.
As Cultist-Like as some of their fans seem to be, I wouldn't discount the possibly of some whacko trying it...and that's scary. MCR might be the worst thing to happen to music since Bon Jovi...but they don't deserve that.

I think its scary how on youtube two of MCR's songs; "Teenagers" and "Famous Last Words" have over 40 million plays. That is ALOT for a rock band, and both of those videos are in the top 10 most viewed all time youtube videos
well idk i wouldn't say "kill" i think they can give MCR a bad name which could lead to killing MCR. i agree with you. some fans are a little to obsessive. i mean i love them they are my favorite band and will always be. they have done so much for me and changed my life. i won't be able not to love this band or forget about them. their music is phenomenal the band members them selfs are just great inspirational people.i'm obsessive of the band or so called obsessive cus i love to hear them, they make me feel better., i love watching their interviews and not only hearing their songs but also hearing what they have to say, i can relate things to them such as skittles, kickball, etc, and i know a lot about them, i know them better than most of my friends. but i think when the fans get to much into the personal life of the members thats when i think they kill the band(which i don't do.) . like wondering if they went to the doctor in the past month or how many cavities have they had since they were young. or what they do with their wives. that is taking it TOO FAR. and it annoys me cus now thats when the fans are too much into the members life's which is disrespectful. Give them their privacy people! or when they only like the band cus of their looks. (they are more than just a pretty face) that annoys me and makes me think oh gosh if i wasn't a fan of mcr and didn't know how truly great they are. i would find the fans annoying.(leading to a dislike towards the band like most people have) so i think it ruins the creditability of the band. but the band loves the fans. they care so much about them. so i think being obsessive in the normal way won't kill the band but being obssesive in the creepy stalkerish way might just ruin their name and how people view them.

wait ok whats bad is people who talk about them saying how they're the biggest most loyal fans in the world and they only know they singles/the black parade CD. most of them don't even know MCR's FIRST CD is "i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love" and they don't ever actually talk about the MUSIC but how hot Gerard is. i have no problem with people talking about bandmembers being hot but if thats the only reason they call themselves a fan then thats just lame.
i know every word to every siing and have all 3 CDs. i know a lot about all of them but i'm not a creepy stalker. lol. some "fans" are though. and those aren't true fans. they only like them because they saw teenagers on MTV or something. that would be why MCR is going back to more of a bullets/revenge style.
as for gerard and frank kissing....its not like they're gay...they're just joking around.....and why is it that guys don't ever complain about GIRLS kissing? hmm....
