I've always thought that they sucked, but that's just me. Being rich hasn't changed my opinion of them, they were always a bunch of whiny nobodies to me.
But, then when I apply your logic to it, ANY band who sings of death, depression, sad stuff or is just in general "dark" has no reason to be that way, do they? If they all have so much money, why are they so depressed?! Well, then again, without the whiny little brats buying this crap up and continuing to listen to it, they wouldn't have gotten rich. So, in the long run, the band you USED to love got RICH (the reason you say you hate them) because people like YOU bought the crap. Hey, I'm just glad you have seen the light. They do suck!

yeah i guess at times mcr is weird, but please don't think they suck. they're making the music for the people, if people want mcr, then i think we should give some respect, those people can relate well to the song...
Um, well, I'm not going to defend them pointlessly and passionately, but I'm going to say that although I like their music, some others, such as yourself, may find it unbefitting for your tastes. If that is the case, do not doubt yourself and just don't listen to it.

i think....what ever. if you don't like the music, then you do not have to pretend to like it. i'm not going to get mad at you, considering i love MCR. but i want you to know, they take no "pride" in how much money they have. and they have serious reasons in why to write about death. because really, thats what life is. its not about happiness and joy. most is just really depressing. MCR wants to make that aware, and help people.
but, if you do not care for the music, thats cool. we all have VERY different tastes in music.

That is exactly what happened to me. I used to like them and after the third listen to BP i realized that each song is about the same crappy concept. It is not even an interesting one.

MCR are one of the most fuk*ng awesome bands in the entire world.
The Point - They make lyrics that people can relate to and it actually helps some people and encourages them to carry on and not give up.
And I also think that its kind of pathetic posting a question on how much you dislike a band.
Oh and one more thing, you sound like a fake poser to me because you claim to have loved them before, but now you don't like them because they wear black and they're successful.

I LOVE the people in the band, the songs including the lyrics and the beat/melody.
It's hard to explain why you like a band bbut the songs are real and I feel that they are a great band.

They are awesome and their lyrics are pretty good... I believe that they get better and better with time. They don't always have to be singing about death and wearing black all the time just to look sad/depressed or whatever, people would get tired of the same thing over and over again. Ah, and it doesn't matter if they are rich or not

I mean, on a metaphoric level, they do write a lot about death. But encased in those metaphors, lies more important things. There are statements about life, about love, and about how you view others and yourself.
