R&Pers.. has this ever happened to you?!

Question: You want to ask a non-R&P question.. a more personal question. For example a dating question, or a health question. But you can't, because you're worried that your fellow R&P contacts that you've come to know might read it. It's like your contacts are people you know in real life, and who would share such personal details with someone they know well?(example: a man who wants to ask an embarrassing question in Men's Health).

Anyone else feel that way?

For a rock question : What rock album would your friends be surprised to know you own ?

Ah well, the solution is actually pretty simple.

My alter ego, "Toto", is the one who asks all the embarrassing personal questions that I need answered in Pets & Pet Care, Health & Beauty, and a host of other sections as well.

It's thanks to this second, newly-registered Yahoo! account that I've been able to get much valuable advice on these pressing questions:

"My date commented that I have breath like a dog. Is this socially forgivable, if I actually am a dog?"

"What kind of bail should my lawyer be trying to fight for, assuming it's my 23rd consecutive mailman-biting offence?"

"Blonde highlights in my fur - yes or no?"

And many more.

This way, R&P contacts have never even seen the question I asked last week about the correct etiquette for sniffing other dogs. (And it's a good thing they never saw it, too.)

For a rock answer: "Destroyer" by KISS. I know these guys were never rated seriously by critics, but they were still great, mindless fun at times. Sometimes you just have to screw the critics.

Use an alternative account id...I do. ;)

rock q:

My friends know my tastes pretty well. Nothing would really shock em except *maybe* a couple of the indie bands.

whatever!

I don't really care what my contacts think. Except for Jeremy, but I have no idea where he's been. I ask questions about people I like (I'm so insecure when it comes to love), and I want my contacts to read them and help me out!

My friends would be surprised to know that I own The Click Five's CD.Or that I know that words to every single song on there.

Yes! I'm so tempted to ask a bunch of health questions but I'm worried Darth will get worried, he's seems really worried about my health as is (Don't worry, I'm fine, just a lttle sick!) but I feel free to let my college questions to roll.

RQ: Um... everything, they get shocked that there's a band called Porcupine Tree ;0)

EDIT:

Bowzer: HA!!!!!!

Cinnamon: Aw! You have us <3

I've always asked what ever I feel in any category. If my contacts are intelligent in one area, I don't doubt they may be intelligent in others also.

I was given GNR's The Spaghetti Incident as a gift one year but I don't play it.

Nope i never that happen to me althrough i got alot of contacts from just from one section and i will say Frehely's Comet first album

I totally agree with what Fonz said, I use an alternate account when i ask stupid stuff that I do not want my contacts to know about

they would be surprised to know that I own a Poison album

Edit: I am your friend Cinnamon

I have to agree with Gorgon, I don't embarrass very easily, especially after chewing on hand grenades over in Religion and Spirituality for so long, anything less seems , well , civilized. Ask away in any place. This isn't junior high school here, well, i don't think it is, lol

8 track's a doodieface!

Wait...you said ISN'T jr. high...my bad dawg.

Leave major details out (names/places/etc.) and don't worry about it. I go out of my way to ask the dumbest questions I can think of at times, and it seems to have landed me more contacts rather than have a negative effect.

Yes. I no longer feel anonymous here anymore, which is mostly a good thing. However, there are plenty of other questions I'd love to ask, but would be embarrassed to as myself. I know for a fact some of the questions might also get me in trouble.

My friends would be shocked and amazed to know that I own a Ratt CD. The horror!!

Nope, I ask away. If you dig deep into my profile you will find a few college and dating questions. I don't get embarrassed easily, and plus my contacts are very mature about stuff like that.

My friends may be surprised that I have Fergie's latest album, but then again my friend and I both bought it together.

I really don't mind if they read my other questions or not...they don't have to answer them and if they did I would welcome there opinion. I ask pregnancy questions all time. But for the real in depth stuff I usually just do the research myself.

I have some Christopher Cross albums.....I guess that would be soft rock though

I know exactly what you mean, there have been a few personal questions that I've wanted to ask but haven't because I didn't want the R&P'ers to see/read them. I posted a personal question once without thinking a while ago, but thankfully it wasn't made into a big deal, I won't go into it.
I might try the alternative account idea, although I think it would feel really weird..

I don't have any friends, I can't answer the rock question. Sorry.

Fonzie; I'm honored, hehe. I don't have any in "real life". I won't try to explain here because I'll sound even more pathetic lol.
Sarah; Thanks <3
Darth; =]

Hey Hedzy. Hasn't happened to me, but I could see it happening, and if it did I'm with Fonzie. I would go with another account for anonymity.

I don't think I have anything that my friends don't know about. Almost all of my friends are really old friends so I find that an awful record makes for good conversation fodder, or they at some point found out about it and have already made fun of me. I think I got the crossest looks for the Snow purchase, but that was kind of hilarious in a way.

BTW kind of to the same train of thought (although I bought it for camp factor) the most awesome bad song ever is Randy Macho Man Savage's My Perfect Friend.

*giggling at Bowzer's answer*

Honestly, I've never really had any personal questions to post in Answers - every question I've posted is something that I have wanted my contacts' feedback on. If I did, though, I would post it through my alternate account.

Some people would be surprised that I own Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits. To others, it makes perfect sense. :)

Yeah somewhat...I just solve the problem by never asking questions anywhere else...except Movies or History or Folklore...lol!

Rock answer: KC & The Sunshine Bands Greatest Hits

*Edit*
Cinnamon..I'm Your Friend
Sarah..good Lord, I have "Overprotective Faux Parent Syndrome"
