I like jay-z and kanye west. And for your information I really don't pay attention to the mainstream since I'm not a fan of mainstream music. Mainsteam is not hip hop more like pop to me. Alot of my favorite arist are mostly underground or don't get the attention they deserve. Hip Hop is far from dead.
For the most part I would say yes, but I'm a big fan of anything that Timbaland has his hand in, Hip-Hop or otherwise, and I really think Crunk is the only super-cool Hip-Hop subgenre around. I also like the Crunk Rock Genre which emerged around 2005.
