Answers: how to tell what genre a song is ? i know that u can know by listening to the instruments but which instruments are in which genre? please please please tell me

Ofcourse this is not typical of every genre, but generally

Pop: mostly vocal. Easy listening. Everyone can understand and enjoy (POPular)

Blues: mostly guitar improvisation. And Harmonica as well

Jazz: Saxophone improvisation is the most typical. But other instruments can practice improvisation very well too.

RnB: Rap & blues. but this has been altered a lot over time from their original parents Rap, and Blues.

Country: mostly famous for its cowboy style, u know, guitar, vocal, sometimes harmonica...

Rock: guitar & drums being the most typical instruments of rock.

But u know what, the easiest way to tell a music genre is by listening to a lot of music, observing the different styles of different genres. Because, even when saxophone is typical of jazz, u can play jazz without the saxophone. Typically Blues is mature and deep, Rock keeps u scream, Jazz is sponteneous, Classical is structurally intelligent, etc.

there are so many genres...it would be impossible to tell you all of them, first you need to tell what the song is that you want the genre from, then maybe someone could help you.

Each song may have more than one genre. You can tell what the genre is by the rhythm, beat, tune, and instruments. Genres vary according to different people. Sometimes it depends on how you look at the music. For example, rock has electric guitar, but it can also be rock if it has a rock n roll tune but played with flutes.

That's a good question...I'd suggest looking up the different music genres on Google, finding bands that fit that genre, then listening to those artists to get a feel for what the stereotype for that genre is....keep in mind many songs and artists defy classification. Also, there are THOUSANDS of genres of music, but the most basic popular genres in America are: Pop music, Rock Music, Country/Western/Bluegrass, Classical, Jazz, Easy Listening, Reggae/Ska, Heavy Metal, Polka, Americana and Traditional (including native American, and standards), Rap/Hip-Hop, R&B, and Alternative (music that blends two or more genres)
