Bealtes fans...HELP?!

Question: I have a question for all the Beatlemaniacs out there. In my opinion ...the Beatles are the greatest band of all time (Zeppelin a close second)...but...What were the Beatles first to do in terms of Rock n Roll? By this I mean...were they the first band to grow their hair out..? Use orchestra instruments? ETC. What did the Beatles do first...that other bands didnt? Thanks for your answers I appreciate it.

The one thing that The Beatles did that no one ever did before was George Harrison's blending Eastern music (i.e. Sitar) with western music. Just listen to "Rubber Soul". The song "Norwegian Wood" comes to mind.

Here's an oddity for you. They were the first to use a kazoo in a song.

they were the first to make amazing music in my opinion

They "supposedly" recorded the first incident of guitar distortion.

My memory is fragmented but I'll take a stab and say it was on the beginning of the song "I Feel Fine"

Edit:
Thanks pikachu. §????? moments are becoming too frequent. (:

Also, → feedback ← was the another word I was attempting to retrieve.

They were the first band to have #1s with all members being lead singers.

I think their White Album was the first double album

EDIT:
TM-It was on "I Feel Fine."
It is described that the distortion they use there is intentionally (they used feedback), unlike other bands who didn't want distortion (tried to keep clean sounds).

Prof's answer made me remember that they were the first to come out with a movie based on themselves which turned out to be a success--Hard Day's Night.

Also, according to something I watched, the first to use feedback on a record (can't remember the song and it's subtle). They did the first music videos also. It was their way of not having to tour anymore. They were inspired by Elvis' Cadillac touring the country and they decided they could tour on their records by releasing videos for the songs. First to do that.
A lot of it is just in the songwriting, they took it to a new level and in their studio experimentation. They burned out on touring and as a part of not wanting to do it anymore they decided they could make records that they couldn't possibly play live. It opened up a lot of room to experiment.

first to utilize drugs to write music. how bout that.

first rock concept album "revolver", first use of string quartet, indian-sitar, first stadium concert, implementing only top-flight musicians, hairstyle, clothestyle, a lot of stuff...

Since you didn't spell their name correctly I can't answer!

I believe they wre also the 1st band to take control in the studio. Unheard of befoer them. That was strictly producers & engineer's jobs.

1st band to do a concept album ('Sgt. Peppers")

1st band to have the top 5 songs in US singles on Billboard's Top 100 in '64.
