What state do you think played an important role in the development of country m!

Question: and what did that state contribute?

Answers: and what did that state contribute?

I'll say Tennessee. Not only for Nashville and the Opry (since Nashville eventually killed country music) but also for the Bristol sessions in 1927 (also known as the Peer sessions) which virtually created the country music industry. It was the first time that the Carter family AND Jimmie Rodgers recorded. Many other country greats recorded as well, including Blind Alfred Reed, Ernest Phipps, Uncle Eck Dunford, Henry Whittier, and Ernest Stoneman.

Texas, Country singers, music writers, honky tonks, bars, cowboys and a way of life.

Tennessee, Nashville is the home of the Grand Ole Opry. Memphis is the home of Sun records where Johnny Cash and other legends got their start.

California~ It produced Dwight Yokham, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and of course, Gary Allan :)

Gotta love that honky tonk sound

Tennessee without a doubt!

Texas
Alabama
Tennessee
Arkansas
Louisiana I think in that order or close to it.
