I gotta go with my grown and sexy crew...Man these guys are hands down review as Icons...The younger crew I dont think can match up with the exception of a few like Nas and Mos Def
The older ones to me where in a better era and more gangsta 4real those others are cool to they more lyrical to me!!! I hope I answered correctly!!! Good question I had to think on this one!!! But I respect them all!!!
the reason this would be hard is because their content is way different for the most part. the older artist on the list you provided have my vote though.. they have more material.. and more experiences in and out of the industry.
they also know how to reach out and touch everybody vs just real hip hop heads.. so the people watching the battle would relate more to them.. also.. they have a one up already.. cause people recognize them as classic emcees.. not to take away from the younger crowd.. but that just how i see it

Think you picked good MC's in both age groups. I purposely used the term MC's because only they know how to battle while rappers can only freestyle. If they were going to battle I would set the ages for 30 & over VS under 30. The cats you have in both groups have a lot in common about their message and skills.

Good List, but it should be OVER 30 vs. UNDER 30. Because really anyone over 30 is from a different Hip Hop era - mos def, talib, andre 3000 and Nas, for example don't even belong in the same category as Lupe (and I believe Nas turns 35 this yr).
But if I HAD to choose, I'd go with over 35 fo sure.
i guess older would usually win but it depends some young rappers like soulja boy couldn't battle a hungry rhinocerus but some of them got some skill.
I'd say the older. Cause rap was rap back in the day.
there are some good new rap artists, but alot tend to just flop.
