There are 5,000 radio stations playing the new stuff; while MAYBE three (nationwide) play old stuff. Does anyone see a problem here?

You know, if you have NEVER heard the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Doors, or Jimi Hendrix before in your life, you can turn on a rock and roll radio station and hear them TODAY. If you have never heard Jim Reeves, Carl Smith, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, or Loretta Lynn before, what are you going to do? Rock and roll does not snub its heroes from 40 years ago, so why does country radio?

(Well, we *know* the answer to that...)

Classic!!!!!

can't they just do a mix of both???!!!!

Texas Music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Classic for sure. They very rarely play it. You know, you can always just turn on a pop station for Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, and a bunch of others.

EDIT: Okay, you'll make sure a T.S. song is played every hour, huh? Well, I guess that's better than every 5 minutes like the radio stations here. lol.

It depends on what you consider classic, I guess? To me from the 90's back is classic. So I would more than likely pick classic country. I mean come on who doesn't love Hank Willams, Conway Twitty, Garth Brooks, Bellamy Brothers, and so many more.

NEW!

Not like what I have to say matters in the case, cause I'm just a little too young to appreciate classic country, but today's country is great! Don't get me wrong, I love johnny cash, willie nelson, dolly parton,...a lot of older ones actaully...but going ALL classic would kill me. I loveee today's country. I couldnt live without it :)

WHAT?????
NO TAYLOR SWIFT?????!!!!!!!!!!!

SIGN ME UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

on edit

What??? You're the program manager???
(never mind) lol

i'd go with New Age.

classic all the way!

Classic

I would totally go with New Age... I mean cuz think of all the ppl that love Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Keith Urban? The ppl that listen to New Age country music would out number Classic anyday. No offense to Classic luvers. I'm not saying that Classic is bad cuz I enjoy classic once in a while but 24/7? No way. People like to listen to the most current songs these days. Just any other genre of music.

I would like them to play new country. I already know classic country. I have the CDs (and records...) I know the artists I love. I want to discover new artists.

Ok Tex, you might find this hard to believe of me...but I would LOVE to find a station that plays a really good mix of both.

How great it would be to be able to hear - Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Reba, Tim McGraw, all on the same station...you know like every other song. One Current, One Classic, One Current, then Classic...

I would really like that. I llike some variety with my Country Music.

new age

classic, khyi 95.3 plays both classic and Texas

I'll take "Americana Music" anytime !!!!!!

I would go with classic..hands down. The new stuff is just that generic "nashville sound". There is very little personality and not much real talent in it anymore.....Give me Cash, Wille and Hank anyday....

Is this a trick question???

I thought "New Country" was a made up term. I thought it was mellow pop music that the rock industry used to trick fans to switch from REAL country to this new crap they call music that is really only watered down, 70's mellow rock!

Since they would be giving us a choice of ALL classic or new age then I would pick classic. I do like some of the new stuff--like Blake Shelton's " Some beach" and a few others but very few. So country classics would be my vote

OH TEX!! come now, of course I have to go with classic!! there's no way that this new stuff they are trying to pass off as country could ever compare to the legends. And I find it humorous how some people answered they like the new because it appeals to a broader audience then classic-well duh!! thats because they are getting people who don't know squat about country to listen to it by tricking them into thinking that rascall flats and taylor swift are actually country. HA!! well they ain't fooling me!

Classic of course

NEW!!!!!!!!!!! i would die if it was all classic! i can't stand Johnny cash, hank williams, and hank williams jr.
i like Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, and Shania Twain a lot better!!!!!
