There are lots of great songs, but I wouldn't attempt one from someone with a voice like those you mentioned, because they are impossible to re-create and the people listening are comparing you to that. Find a song that fits your style, maybe even one that wasn't a hit, so that you can do your thing without being compared. And, I think that if people try to sing songs by those with amazing voices, i.e. Martina McBride, you tend to try to hit notes that she can hit that 99% of the world cannot, which makes things worse.

u should try something by leann rimes or alicia keys they have great voices and there songs really show off there graet vocals!

Since you posted this in the COUNTRY MUSIC section, I'll give you an appropriate song:
San Antonio Rose by Bob Wills. It's a song that will be remembered by all... it also has some range to it. There are a couple of places where you can break your voice and make it sound GOOD !!!!!
