John Lennon.

Fun tidbit...

When the Beatles recorded this song, Lennon was getting laryngitis, which you can probably notice in how scratchy his voice is.

Fortunately, they were able to record the song in one take before Lennon lost his voice.

I do believe it is John lennon

im sowwie i dont know...

John Lennon is singing lead with George and Paul doing the background "oohs".

The late, great John Lennon

Thats Lennon - the one by himself...Paul & George on the same mic

It's definitely John Lennon.

It was recorded at the end of a days worth of recording so that John's voice would be a little bit more raspy to get the right feel for the vocal.

Yes, it is John Lennon for sure. I always thought it fun to figure out who's singing in the Beatles songs, since they all took to the mike. Like George singing the lead to Roll Over Bethoven. Twist and Shout is definatley John.

it's John Lennon. Paul and George are doing backing vocals.

It's definitely John Lennon on lead, Paul McCartney and George Harrison are sharing the mic on backing vocals.

definitely Lennon ...

Yes SDMf4 has it right .... it was John Lennon, and legend has it that they decided to do the song at the end of a particularly long recording session, and that is why his voice sounds a little different - definitely raspy and worn out.

No doubt it was John Lennon. You can hear his sorta raspy voice, while Paul's voice is a little softer in tone.

Paul McCartney :)
