I don't agree that you're one or the other because they're both so brilliant. However, If you did have to choose it would have to be Oasis.
Yeah Country House won the battle to number 1, but Oasis won the war. Definitely Maybe and What;s the Story are better than most albums full stop let alone any of Blurs albums.

I was 12, was living on Abington Street and me and y mate Natasha were Blurettes all the way!
Back then i was Blur mad.........but i've grown and now understand the error of my ways!! Oasis obviously were and are god!! xxx
I loved both bands and still have albums by both. I didn't get the whole need to hate one. They both have some great songs and I listen to both all the time on my i pod. Back in '95 I was only seven and still had serious taste in music!!
I think Oasis are better though.
Blur turned out to be a mirage that had no substance - all show, no talents. Blink, and there're gone - just like a blur. Oasis, as the name suggests, is something else. Sustenance, luscious, refreshing, etc.

I was a fan of both, bought both cds, but i did see through the whole escapade(albarn and gallagher both had crap songs and there was only one way to keep the momentum create a war between the bands) to be fair although blur havent been as successful they are the better band with more variety of songs and styles, but oasis in 93 at the roadhouse manchester was amazing(original line up, pure rock n roll)
I bought both the singles when they went head to head and loved both bands, that was an amazing time in music but i have to say oasis had the edge. When they first came out with live forever etc no-one could touch them. Brings back great high school memories for me :-)
I love them both, but I'm a huge damon Alburn fan! =D

Oasis are a Lads band , whereas Blur had far more orginality and variety to their music.
This has been proved as Oasis are still trying to equal their first two albums while the various Blur members (Coxon / Albarn, James) Continue to produce original , startling and different music (Good Bad & The Queen , Gorillaz)
I liked both but i would of been on pulps side if they were in the contest.

Both could never hold a candle to Supergrass, whom, in my opinion, they both blatantly ripped off.
blur were my fave's, i prefer oasis now..
