Why did Creed split up?!
Question: Scott Stapp got divorced and regressed into some old drinking habits, and the rest of his band said they couldn't have that in their Christian band. So the rest of the band left to form a new band- Alterbridge. Scott Stapp was on the path to straightening up, but I haven't heard anything in a while. The last I heard was a song on the "Passion of the Christ songs" cd.

i think he's trying to do a solo album now.
Seems like Scott Stapp wanted to go solo, and they broke up. The other members of Creed actually broke off together and made a new band with another guy. That is currently what Scott Stapp is still doing, trying to be successful solo.
Scott Stapp made a solo album called The Great Divide. Creed said that the reason they split up was because it stopped being the same and it wasn't fun anymore. "We just weren't passionate about it [Creed] anymore. Relationships had deteriorated between the band and Scott."
The rest of the members of the band made a new band called Alter Bridge, and Scott Stapp as well as the other members all say that Creed isn't going to rejoin.
