Without MAINSTREAM...We would never understand and appreciate the Common's, Lupe's and Talib's...feel me...yea that was a coooorny example...but you get what I am saying...without struggle...you would never know or appreciate how good it felt to be successful....mainstream shows us what we dont want to be a part of
Mainstream isnt bad...Yea there is a lot of garbarge out but what is your favorite underground rapper considered once he starts to gets radio play. Does that mean that they are wack now...No it gives ppl a chance to hear ppl that have quality music like Talib or Jay and Nas...It gives put out to the masses what hip hop music should sound like or it better yet it shows a better portrayal of hip hop music to ppl that dont really listen to it. Right now maybe mainstream is gettin a bad rap because it isnt balanced its putting out non skilled "I found a quick way to get rich quick scam"...lol Dont get me wrong its nothing wrong with that but I have a problem when ppl start to think that this is how ALL hip hop music is.
