Answers: What does it mean when Nashville says your too country for country music?

I think what they are saying is,your too old fashioned, your music won't sell, you have to be a fire cracker and go pop.

"Hillbilly"??

Country isn't what it used to be...

Nowadays being similar to the original country music would be considered too country... Country music has evolved and changed. In essence it has lost some things and gained others. So when they say too country....maybe they are thinking "deliverance"...lol

That you have a fine sense of style, rhythm, twang and lyrics. Not like the POP that is in todays music.

It means that Hank Williams would not be allowed to perform or record in Nashville because of his singing and writing style

I think George Strait and Allan Jackson said it best in Murder on music row.

ss~~lady~~ss is right! Country isn't what it used to be...Nowadays being similar to the original country music would be considered too country...

Nastyville obviously knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about country music anymore. They just know about greenbacks.

It means they will not play Texas Music.... It does not fit the "cookie cutter' genre' that Nashville considers to be moneymakers !!!!!

But they're wrong !!!!
