Whats that spookey 'music' called, with choir men singing in deep/low vo!
Question: You can often hear it when there is a historical documentry on the geographic channel, however upon entering the torture chamber of madame tussauds, or in many areas of the london dungeon, its also playing in the background.
Its very very eerie and scares the hell out of me..i wouldnt refer to it as music but thats the only way i could categorize it.
Its just basically many choirmen/monks or whatever singing in very low voices, and the occasional churchbell ringing in the background..just now and then, not very frequently at all.
So where is it from? When was it sung ? Why does it sound so depressing and spooky? Thanks! :)

It's probably one form or other of plainchant. Gregorian is a subcategory of plainchant; not every chant you hear is a Gregorian chant, contrary to popular belief.
Oh, and it did not start out as "funeral music".

its called the Gregorian Chant( i learned all about it in my fine arts-musical class!it was started along time ago-like beethoven era i believe..it started out as a funeral procession music-maybe thats y it sounds so creepy-lol
Could be "Ave Satani" the theme from The Omen.
I know it is Gregorian Chant, but I have always called it 'Monking', and it freaks me out too! lol
