My amp makes a humming noise when i plug my instrument cable into it, it wont pl!

Question: When i plug my instrument cable into my amp its jus buzzes and hums. When i turn the volume up or down the humming will get louder or softer. When i plug the other end into my guitar the buzzing continues and it will not amplify my guitar, just buzzes. I've tryed plugging the cable in and out a thousand time, unplugging the amp and turning it on and off, nothing seems to fix the problem. This is my first guitar, it came in a package with the epiphone studio 10s amp.

PLEASE HELP lol

Check the nut that holds your jack together, it might be loose, if it is, tighten it. If that doesn't work, get a new cable (monster cables are awesome and they all have lifetime warranties), if that still doesn't work, get your amp/guitar checked out by a guitar tech.

Does the amp buzz without the cable being plugged in? If not it's probably just a bad cable. Do like Nate says and get a Monster cable , they're great. If the amp buzzes without the cable being plugged in take it to the repairman.
