Mold on saxophone reeds?!

Question: I left a box of reeds in New Zealand for about 7 months... now they have mold on them. Granted this wasn't the smartest thing to do, I was wondering if there's any chance I can save them? If it helps, the mold was blue-ish gray, and looked like dust. Wow... even typing that makes this feel more hopeless :D anyways, they were rather expensive and kind of important to me so I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to improve this already bad situation. Thanks (:

Slice a lemon and squeeze the juice on the reed, then uses a inexpensive toothbrush to scrub the reed on both sides.

All I can suggest is trying an Anti Bacterial cleaner, but I really don't think that'll help. You'd probably be better off turffing them and getting new ones even if you do get them clean because you may get sick.

No reed is worth your health. Sorry, no way to salvage them.

I don't think you can do much to save molded wood.

Reeds are cheap compared to treatment for bacterial infection. Buy new reeds!
