Andy Kim was the original singer in the 60's. Neil Diamond did a remake in 1974 ~ which is probably the version you are asking about ;)

Andy Kim (who sang a number of songs released under the name of the comic book group the Archies) did "Rock Me Gently." Andy Kim wrote the song himself.
The reason it's popular again is because of a commercial for the Jeep Liberty that features a man singing along with the song on the radio. A squirrel, two birds, and a wolf jump in the car through the sun roof and start singing along with him. It's a cute commercial!

This song was sung by a guy named Andy Kim...He was even on "The Dating Game" with Jim Lange back in the retro days of old! He performed "Rock me Gently" on the show as it was one of the top songs of the day. (circa 1970 0r close to that...)
