it seems the song is about a relationship or friendship thats ending because the other person did something. it talks about being on ur own side, its better than being on your side. thats where i got that idea from. and the person is just planning on ending it because its causing depression or something.
the tone, it seems that whoever wrote this (my guess would be Tyson) had a personal experiance and hes mad or sad about the fact that this relationship or friendship is ending, and at the same time hes happy to be putting an end to wat hes gone through.
those are just theoried, im not sure about any of it really. thats the best ive got.
