Why is it when a rapper says "MTV"on BET, they censor the word out, ev!

I went to college and majored in Radio/TV. Viacom is a very ratings oriented company, and they really try not to stir any of their viewers away from the station that they are watching. MTV and VH1 are their flagship stations so they'll let other people say BET on there, but with BET believe it or not doesn't draw as good ratings as the other two stations so they feel by bleeping out "MTV" that prevents people from even turning the channel to MTV. I know it doesn't make sense but it's all about advertising and ratings!
it's like the big fast food restaurants don't want you to bring other fast food into their business because of advertising. like one night after the club, i bought krystals and my friends wanted waffle house, the manager wouldn't let me eat there. so i guess that they would be advertising for the other station, and they probably feel like if someone says their name, then that will make you want to watch the rival channel,
they may be owned by the same company but they are in different divisions.
I have never heard them censor it, in kanye west song they didn't censor MTV when it said "i'm going to be on MTV momma".
