Question: I just discovered a guy called Guthrie Govan, he's playing the type of stuff that I'm eventually hoping to write. He's quite like Greg Howe in his approach to composition, except he has a unique flavour like every great guitarist. What do you think?

I read about him in a guitar mag last year and got 'Erotic Cakes' on the strength of the article. Well impressed! Anyone who can count Satch and Ritchie Kotzen as fans must be doing something right.
I saw him a couple years back but couldn't remember his name. He is very unique and gives the guitar a different and cool approach.
He's good. My favorite player is Jason Becker. I bought his music when I was 12 ( I'm 34 now ). Unfortunately, he developed Lou Gherig's disease before he could go on tour with David Lee Roth and make history. Now he can only move his eyes and his face a little. It's a very sad story. There is supposed to be a movie being made about it, but I have still yet to see it. peace!
