the music you like does not determine your lifestyle, sure it can play a part and in some cases a large part but just because you like a band that is branded by some people means nothing of who you are, my chem has some great guitar riffs catchy tunes and solid vocals, by the way i have trouble seing the question here :P haha

You dont have to be emo. They are my all time favorite band. Each cd they release is even better than the one b4. Im old 50 + and i could listen to them for hours and i never seem to get sick of their music. So, NO, i dont think ur emo by default (LOL)
