Is the "whole package deal" ie: linear notes, lyrics and art work impo!

Question: besides the music being the most important part of the package. is all the extras worth the $18+ you spend on music nowadays?
if the artist's are gonna want to promote and sell recordings anymore what would you like from them?

In a music market powered by the use of Itunes and online downloads, it is becoming harder and harder for physical albums to sell because they are more expensive then their online counterparts. I think that it depends on who you are targeting. If you are a rapper, most people won't buy your CD in stores because rapper albums are more fueled by individual singles. On the other hand, bands like Radiohead, use extra material like artwork and additional music (not available on online music stores) to fuel a market they own both virtually and physically. I think that we are nearing an age where only the die hard fans and collectors will buy physical copies of their favorite CDs. In my opinion, I think that we shouldn't kill the CD because it makes music more meaningful if you have something that you can touch. This is where we ask ourselves, convenience or cool factor?
