How hard is it to switch to trumpet?!
Question: I play the french horn and I want to switch to trumpet but still be able to play french horn decently. How hard is it to switch in this scenario? Also, if you have any tips regarding playing trumpet, please post them. I have to learn it really fast (2-3 months).

Wow, this is creepy because i just did this exact thing. Surprisingly, both of the instruments are very very similar in playing style and fingerings. It took about 3 weeks for me to switch completely, but it might have taken more time if i didn't play mellophone before (same fingerings as trumpet). When switching to trumpet i was pleased to find out that notes are easier to pick out (hard to explain) and much easier to double tongue. It also did wonders for a sore shoulder from holding up the good old double horn. Anyway, it was easy and should be fun.
