It is a hard choice but I will go with "In The Ghetto"

I remember where I was like it was yesterday. At the time, I happened to be a crew chief at a local McDonalds..whoo hoo, my first paying job...lol ANywho, we had a small storage room downstairs that the manager allowed us to turn into a crew room. I was standing on a table just about to put the paintbursh to the wall when the radio announced he had died. Everyone stopped right there thinking we had heard it wrong. I think that was my first experience having been impacted by the news of a death of a musician.

The ironic part of the story is that...that crew room..well, we had two sets of lockers that we decided to place at 45 degree angles in the corner, leaving a space between so that we could change clothes in the space behind them instead of going upstairs to the public bathroom. Years later, some lunatic went nuts and opened fire in the lobby of that McDOnalds in San Ysidro, then went downstairs. There were two employees that ran down there and hid in that space behind those lockers and escaped being shot. I remember thinking that I was the one that suggested making that cubbyhole years ago and how ironic it was.

So for me, that memory will never be lost because of that crew room and it held two significant dates in my mind.

Durn it tex!!! I can't really pick a favorite!!!
Hound Dog would be a favorite.
Kentucky Rain too.
oh!! and Blue Moon of Kentucky.
Now I just Love!!!!! his movies. will watch them over and over and over..........any time, day or night.
Viva Las Vegas would be my favorite movie.

Too young to remember where I was at when he died. didn't see him in concert either.

Our of his early hits I think I liked "When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again" Out of his later hits I choose "In the Ghetto" and of his gospel hits "How Great Thou Art". I will probably think of more later. Elvis was a legendary performer. I still miss him. I remember the day he died. It was the day after my son's birthday. I just felt so sad and had such disbelief. It was like ... no, the world still needs your music. I regret I never saw him in concert, but I saw all of his movies.

I was 15 when Elvis died and, although I don't remember where I was when I heard the news, I do remember the despair of a mother I babysat for. She had a stack of his albums that played constantly on the stereo. Tissues were always in her hand, as she dabbed at her eyes.

Elvis was scheduled to appear in my home state of Maine just after he died. A friend of mine had a ticket to that concert and, if you can believe it, he returned it for a refund! I tried to convince him that someday that ticket would be worth a lot, but he wouldn't listen!

I've always loved Elvis's music. My favorite song would have to be "Love Me Tender".

American Trilogy & Suspicious Minds are my favorite songs by him, and I was bartending and in the middle of making a martini when it came on the bar's T.V. and I almost dropped the glass. I was shocked and very sad. Sadly I did not get to see him in concert, but was planning to soon. His last concert was in Indianapolis, Indiana and I should have gone. That was 3 hours from where I live, but I couldnt go. Happy Birthday Elvis and may your soul have peace, always.

I love all the songs that Elvis recorded. I wasn't born when he died but I have been to Graceland and loved it.
Long Live the King!!!

I love so many too mention, but the one that brings back memories and brings tears to my eyes is The Wonder Of You. I was at home my cousin called me and said she just heard Elvis died! Never did see him in concert. Thanks for this question, made my day!

I was in my late 20s when Elvis died. Never got to see him but wish I had.
"In the Ghetto"
"Are You Lonesome Tonight"

My favorite song is COLD KENTUCKY RAIN,followed closely by IN THE GHETTOMy wife and I were in the car returning from a shopping trip,No never got to see him,but various members of my family did,and he made an impression on them that they still talk about today.

My all time favorite is "Suspicious Minds." Unfortunately, I wasn't even born yet when he died. He would have been awesome to see in concert!!

I Love all Elvis songs, But my favorites would be Love Me Tender & Kentucky Rain. He will always be The King.

My favorites by Elvis are "Are You Lonesome Tonight" and "Maries The Name Of His Latest Flame" I had the experience of witnessing an Elvis concert in 1969 and wouldn't take for that experience. He was dynamic onstage and interacted with the crowd. Of course the girls were falling right and left and swooning over him and they even wanted his sweat wiped on them and he did what they wanted. He was a great showman for sure. I remember where I was when I heard that he died. I was lecturing a class in rules of search and seizure and we took a break and I heard it on the radio. I couldn't believe it and it made me sad to think he was still so very young. Long live the King Elvis.

I was only 3 when he died. Fav song Don't Cry Daddy.
