Why has classic rock become so popular with the little tweenyboppers?!

Question: Stay away from my Zep and Floyd, you little nonsense children. Go listen to your Chemical Romance or whatever and stop pretending like you're huge fans because you know the lyrics to "Stairway to Heaven" and "Money" and own the "Best Of" discs your parents bought you last Christmas. For God's sake.

Guitar Hero. Hahahaha.

Seriously, I bet those people can't name ten songs by their supposed favorite artists.

Retro T-shirts are fashionable.

They like it... wait for it... because it's good! What's wrong with people liking good music?

Huh? Ask yourself that. :) Come on, there is no way you don't have the answer. After all if I were a peanut, I'm pretty sure I'd know what I taste like.

Maybe they have come to realize that, all of the Greatest rock songs, have already been written.

I see no problem in young kids liking classic rock. I am only 20 and I have been a Doors/ACDC/Kiss/Ozzy/all other classic rock for that matter... fan since I was in the second grade. I think the fact that you are agitated that young people like music you obviously grew up listening to is showing your immaturity and their maturity. Classic rock lyrics are quite deep and if young people want to listen to them.. More power to you! About time our generation enjoys good music.

So let me get this straight. The "old timers" want the "tweenyboppers" to listen to real music, but they don't want them to listen to classic rock? Hmm, something seems contradictory here.

why cant they listen to older music just because these bands dont exist in our generation? theres nothing wrong with that

and isnt it teenyboppers? not tweenyboppers..although maybe you can say it different ways

Why are you getting so angry over people taking a liking to good music? If its good idk why you even seem to care. Its probably because classic rock is better than a lot of the modern rock, so what ever is up your *** you might want to take it out and realize that just because someone younger than you likes the same stuff doesnt give you a right to start a bitchfest.

The simple answer is -- The music speaks for itself; it's Good music that transcends generations.

If the ones who are genuinely into it are serious, they'll know more than only the hits. I say embrace em & it's up to us or whoever introduced them to it to guide em beyond ''Money" & "Stairway".

It always happens. . .

My parents screamed the same thing when my sister and I discovered how cool their music collections were. And I screamed when it happened later.

Most of the time the reason is that someone "new" redoes the song, and they think it is an original - I can't tell you how many times I've laughed when I have heard someone talking about the "cool new song" by some new band - only to be able to tell them who originally did it. . .

Hahahahaha

Yes... Fonzie brain washed me... must go back to MCR!!!!

No seriously, you can't just assume that all of us listen to only the "big hits" of the classic rockers. There are plenty of us who are truly passionate about our favorite bands and classic rock has a lot of great music to offer.

Because classic rock happens to be GOOD MUSIC. "MCR" and "FOB" and whatever kind of stuff the tweenyboppers mostly listen to is complete garbage. I'm 14, I've always been into Aerosmith, Motley Crue, The Ramones, Floyd, Nirvana...(you know, good stuff) since I was little because of my parents. If it's MY FAULT that I happen to enjoy music that has soul and power, then I'm screwed. I like music that was made in the interest of purely making music, not being some awful boy band that calls themselves scene with people screaming "OMG ITS PETE WENTZ" every two seconds. I agree that little kids who think they're huge fans because they can play "Back In Black" on the guitar are definitely annoying. I think it's better they enjoy something that was actually good musically than complete trash. No?

well its better than when kids listen to some junk artificial punk crap. Kids learn good music, Zep, Floyd, beatles, Ozzy, Dream theater, and listen to it. and when they grow up they end up with good taste in music, i know at least few people here on Y! R&P who teen but have pretty good taste in music . you know who you're ;)

Because that's the best music ever made.
It stands the test of time.
Go you tennyboppers!!!

they love Back In Black and Thunderstruck

Because classic rock is the very best music out there and it lasts and lasts and lasts. Rock and roll will never die! Neil Young.

Cheap Trick has always welcomed the young fans; they get pointed out in the crowd and made part of the show. I'm glad they like my music, it shows they have good taste.

What else do they have? Their own stuff is crap!!

There were a lot of kids at the last Neil Young show I was at, and they were enjoying the show, too. One young man I know, a senior, bought his own ticket.

I'd say odds are you did the same thing. If you were actually around in the sixties when Pink Floyd started, you probably listened to the folk revival. Or maybe you jumped on board in the 70s, or caught the lame remains in the 80s etc..

Get used to it or at least be a bit more novel and complain about people being into Keroac or Salinger.

Stop being such a music nazi.

Shut up you music nazi. -_- This is honestly the stupidest post I've ever seen.

Because they are fed up with all the junk music from all the TV casting shows & one hit wonder bands so they turn to the real talent in the World.

I think its better they listen to the classics rather to Chemical Romance or whatever. Its better to give little kids good foundations rather than brain damage.

okay "a w" give my generation something better than 50 Cent, My Chemical Romance, and Soulja Boy Tell 'em....

Well, it's what kids do now. I think it has a lot to do with merchandising, head into your local Wal-Mart, I was there the other day and saw at least five different pieces of Floyd clothing, I bought a Wall shirt, as I could care less what hipsters think about me, but yeah, children recognize these band names from their parents, see the clothes, buy them, and then it spreads like every other fad.

I do hate best ofs though, I want to find Odds and Sods, not five different Who best ofs. Wait, Odds and Sods is kind of a best of, but my point remains.

Oh yeah, David Bowie, I wanted the Berlin Trilogy, five cities later I have Low, what do most stores carry? A billion David Bowie best ofs.

Hey Its good music. soooo chilll

Honestly, I'm sick of kids wearing "the Clash" shirts. Those are mine!
It's all Guitar Hero's fault...
