I think it's a waste,it's just another fad like boy bands with instruments that they cant play,they whine about how they got picked on in gym class and dumped for the neighbor kid and most of the time they're my age or older,there is no quality to anything without talent just something to make money off of because kids eat up anything they're told to like "hey I'm depressed and unwanted because my mommy would'nt let me go to the mall,and kids at school say I'm not cool,yeah they make me part of something" hey whatever works to help you fit in but when you listen to it again in 5 years you'll be kicking yourself for thinking it's like totally the best ever!!

"Any quality in that music" is too broad and general a question. Just because a musician performs a certain style of music does not make them any more or less talented.
As for what I personally think of the emo genre, it depends a lot more on the specific song than the artist behind it.
there are some amazingly good songs coming out of the emo(emotional) population. I generally like Emos and Emo Bands but when they start cutting themselves, and going anerexic then i will say no way. other than that i have a great variety of emo bands on my I-pod some of which are:
Panic! At the Disco
Fall Out Boy
ect.
Emo Bands? huh! It really depend on your moods and weather or not your into their music! Actually i know plenty of song that are worth listening to.

None of these bands listed so far are emo.
Emo is almost a dead genre from the 90's. If you want real, quality emo, it would be Sunny Day Real Estate. Perhaps some Fugazi, I hate myself, etc. etc.
EMO and quality in music are opposite like opposite sexes.
I don't like any band that is always whining "poor me, poor me" Shut the fnck up. Nobody cares. Deal with it. You have to be strong in life.

Well, to be serious, people consider the bands I listen to as emo, but I do not think they are emo at all. I think it's a very stereotyped genre.
I guess if you classify the music I listen to as emo, I guess the quality of music is pretty amazing.
I think that there is quality within every genre of music including emo music, it just depends on the band. i don't think it's right when people hate on an entire genre of music because they don't like a particular band, that's really lame.
i'm not a huge fan of rap music for example, but i do think that there are some talented musicians in that kind of music.

i cannot stand emo bands. they suck. they have no talent, no one wants to hear them whine and complain about their problems... and yeah it is different than rock bands writing songs about their problems cause they dont whine about it and most of them have talent.
