mostly screamo. like the band scary kids scaring kids. And other depressing, or loud, screaming music...like dont get me wrong u dont have to be drepressed to listen to it. I listen to it and I am like always happy.

well its pretty self explanatory music that talks about ppl wanting to kill them selves hurt themselves stuff like that pretty much. So it's just songs that are i guess emo-ish???

Emo (Emotional) is a movement of crappy and unartistic music that started a few years ago! It basically sells out by by creating music that "teens can relate too"...."artists"...and i use that term losely with emo crap... write this crap to make money off of the youth. You know..like "oh, my life sucks because i can't have my way...so imma cut myself to make people pay attention to me and get ym way..and WHINE WHINE WHINE!!" True artists dont write music for people to make money...true artists write music influenced by themselves. But music as of 2000 has really gone down the craphole. lol
Really everything is emotional...but Emo is the stereotype of you know...the UBER-GOTH!!! really tight black pants and pink and pokadots and all that! So i refer to the emo stereotype...bc all stuff has emotion behind it...but that doesnt make it all emo

EMO MUSIC:
Music that is emotional usually about death and sadness
EMO PERSON:
Someone that cuts themselves and is always depressed and usually wears black and usually has very thick mascara and eyeliner.
EMO BAND:
So if someone says (just an example doesn't mean they are) "Green Day is emo !" it usually means that the members (or one of them) is an emo person and the band's music is emo

Most people have already sumed it for you, but it is a spin off of old fashioned "Goth".
It's emo - as in emotional music and tends to deal with the sadder side of life. Not necessarily about killing or cutting yourself. It's just about feelings and upsets - love lost, etc. It's like taking a country song, but setting it to more modern rock music with a little screaming and edgier voice pitches. The artists tend to wear black eyeliner, spiked hair and/or colored tips in their hair and they wear all black.
Not all do this, but it tends to be part of the "look."
I personally like some of the music - reminds me of my goth days when I was in school. It is unfortunate that the bands being churned out by the big labels all follow a "formula' making them sound the same.
Try AFI's Decemberunderground album for a little emo.. or fallout boy or My Chemical Romance...

yeah ...hi. I wrote on the emo music thingy on ask yahoo...peeps kept telling u that it was stupid, and that it was for peeps who were depressed and hated there life. well thats all bull ****. its not true. me and my friends listen to "emo music" but we also listen to country, r&b, pop, so we have a life we dont wollow up inside ourselves and cut ouselfs like"emos" do. Me and my frends r not depressing peeps, we dont ware black all the time and we DO NOT cut our selves. I love the color pink, love animals, play volleyball, and enjoy my life. "emo music" is just a title someone gave it because its wat most depressed peeps listen to bcuz it made them feel better. MOST depressed peeps. that doesnt mean everyone that listens to it is depressed. and the other thing is they all said how crappy it was but thats there opinion...I wont hate u if u dont like "emo music"(hell i dont even no ya)so they shouldnt talk trash bout it. In my opinion rap sucks...they just ...rap. all they sing about is sex and money....no affence if u like it.. but thats my opinion(oh and just to let u no i dont listen to complete screamo...just ...music with some screamo,lol) and if u listen to lyrics to alot of emo songs, they r good. like the band, scary kids scaring kids, sang about the war....oh and peeps said fall out boy and grrenday are emo music...no they arent. theere just rock...thats it...well i hope this helped! sorry it was so long...(this is what my friend said she emailed to u..i thought it was good so i put it on here)
