Do you still like that old time rock and roll?!

Question: classics are immortal....

Answers: classics are immortal....

Yes, that kind of music just soothes my soul.

Just the other night, at a party, I dragged a young co-worker to the dance floor when I heard Twist & Shout start up...he looked puzzled, so I said This is a good song! He laughed and got into it!

~Yes~

I reminisce about the days of old...

You betcha!!!!

Yep. Spend most of my day and night listening to music and most of it is older than I am. ;)

i do not... i do not like that old time rock and roll... in fact, i do not like any music... at least i'd never admit to it... i listen to the news all day...

Definitely! However, kids today think of old time rock and roll as being music from the 80's and 90's! Many of them don't realize that rock and roll dates back to the early 1950's. In fact, the first record ("Rocket 88" by Jackie Brenston) to be considered "rock and roll" was released in March of 1951.

When I think of old time rock and roll, I think of the music from late 1954 (the time "Rock Around The Clock" was released) to the end of 1963(just before the Beatles erupted on the music scene). While I very much enjoy listening to and appreciating songs from the mid 60's through the mid 90's, that first era has a special place in my heart. Although some of the music might now sound dated, the records that have "stood the test of time" still sound fresh, energetic, passionate, or heartfelt even today.

that kind of music just soothes the soul

todays music ain't got the same soul...
