You just can't resist good music and originality in the style when compared to whitey culture. It's upsetting that the music is produced so well but the lyrics are always lame and depressing, usually relying on the chorus for 80% of the song. It's a love hate relationship, like most.

Being half white I can only halfly answer this question. More Hip Hop fans do happen to be white than any other race, but many more whites hate rap than love it. Also if you listen to songs like Keep Ya Head Up by 2Pac, you'd realize a lot of rap songs got positive messages. And how poetic they are like Rakim's Lyrics of Fury.

Not all white people like rap and people can like whatever they want. It's called free will. Hip hop is a culture that people are embracing. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm white and love hip hop I also have two mixed boys so not all white people are like that. I'm real with mine.
because it is an art. I'm white, I'm a producer, I rap, and I love it. I don't try to be black, I have no intention to be black (don't mean anything buy that), and I'm happy the way I am. People who go around saying that I try to be black, or that I'm a wigger or Wanksta, they don't know me so it doesn't really matter. It's a choice, rap is something you can dance to, something that makes people get loose, or just kick back to. Writing lyrics also puts me in a relaxed mindset, kind of like a meditation. It's just a choice to like rap. I was born into hiphop so that is the music I grew to respect. And I think people who say that I'm trying to act black, or wanna be like (them) look past alot of reasons to why I do what I do.

Why does ANYBODY like it so much? It's the worst stuff out there! I'd rather listen to Bluegrass, Country, or Elevator music before I'd ever listen to rap (but I'd listen to Elevator music first).
