Did Elvis Presley ever...?!

Question: I have an mp3 of Are You Lonesome Tonight? that claims to be Elvis and Roy Orbison singing, with the Beatles playing the band. It's hard to tell if it is real or not, but I was just wondering if its phony or not, I'm a big fan of all three, but I've never heard of this collaboration. If it is fake, it is one of the better impersonations lol

Never happened, although the beatles did visit with Elvis during one of thier world tours.

I know Elvis knew The Beatles and Roy Orbisn but haven't heard of any collaboration

ive never heard of it and if its real, id like 2

is there nothing more important in you life?? i do believe they did not all know each other but ewith the jiggery pokery of science etc it is possible.... please go worry about something sensible.

Sounds completely fake, like most supposed collaborations involving the words "Extremely rare!"

I THINK THEY DID COLLABORATE WITH EACH OTHER NOT SURE WHEN

It is not fake.

There were no Mp3's around when Elvis was!

It might be a cover(remake)???

It's a fake. I would have heard of that. I've been a Beatle fan ever since I saw them on the "Ed Sullivan Show" back in the mid sixties and have followed them ever since. Roy Orbison is a favourite of mine as well, Elvis Presley I grew up with, and if that combination of greats ever produced a song together? Everyone would know of it. It would be common knowledge. Someone is decieved, to tell you that or is decieving you on purpose for what ever reason.
I don't think it's true at all.

No according to wikipedia he performed it in the studio with his backup singers. I don't know how old you are but the Beatles were rivals for Elvis. He was the hottest thing when he went into the army and when he got out the Beatles had taken over. He had to fight to get back his popularity. So I doubt they would have played in the band for him.

As someone who owns between 350G and 500G of music and constantly helping my friends and family accurately name music on their iPods, this is a comon problem we run into.

A lot of the sites people use with their iPods/mp3 players have quite a bit of music which is incorrectly labled. A lot of people even put stuff on there saying how special it is because it's a collaberation of two great bands or whatnot, and it ends up being a song by a one hit wonder. some people even put some songs on here with a catchy title that has a virus attatched to it...I got a Trojan Horse on my computer once by downloading a Cure song.

another thing that has become popular nowadays is what people can do with music with computer technology. People can tweek the voice of a singer and make it sound like someone else, they can also overlap files on top of eachother, creating a false collaberation. One of my friends downloaded a song that she thought was a duet with two female singers, and we heard something funny. We turned it up and it was a dog barking in the backround (definitely not supposed to be in the song), meaning someone just recorded a song off their stereo and placed it in the backround of the song she downloaded...funny, huh?

I downloaded this one song that was just labled, "Rare Deftones Acoustic". I listened to it, and was like, "damn, this sounds familiar!" Turns out it was an acoustic version of "Drop To Zero" by Trustcompany, a band that I believe only have one or two albums, which I have.

Do what I do if you wanna know what's real and what's not...go to amazon.com and look at all the albums the band has. This is a very accurate way of correcting your music, so you can be smart and safe about what you download. I would do that with this song. Although it may take a long time, I'd check out Elvis' albums and see if that rendition of the song even exists.

Although, as someone who worships Elvis and has about 3,000 songs (including live versions, acoustic versions, and covers), I can tell you that I don't have that one. Chances are it's another case of someone trying to glorify something that is probably just Roy Orbison or someone with a similar voice covering the song.

Hope that helps!
