Why do Mariah Carey's songs make me cry or feel like crying?!


Question: Do they make you cry? Do you think it's the beauty of her songs? I know I listened to Butterfly this past Christmas, & it reminded me of my grandma's death back in '97. I started weeping like mad crazy. I'm listening to it now, & I'm trying to hold back my tears.

Maybe the lyrics are so beautifully written to the point they made you cry! There is this song that she sings with Whitney Houston that makes me cry, but my mother loves it! The song is called, "When You Believe"! It makes me think of life without my parents and that hurts like hell!

    Because it's something that you can relate to, and makes it personal. The fact that it's a beautiful song helps as well. : )
    They don't make me cry but she has some emotional and touching songs.
    I feel the same way with Janis Joplin's songs. I guess it's just because she died so young and because she sang from her soul.

    Mariah Carey? I don't know. I'm not a fan. Maybe you find something special in her voice.

    Because her voice is THAT annoying.
    maybe you shouldn't listen to a song that reminds you of a bad time though, listen to a song that reminds you of a good time!!
    because her songs have good lyrics and when she uses the high notes it touches you:)
    high notes like those one she uses have a certain effect on people's brain:) it makes us more sensible
    She sings in a way that makes u feel how she feels... she has been through alot
