How do i find the Relative Minor to C major??!

Question: Simply go down a minor third, ie C major goes to A minor

Answers: Simply go down a minor third, ie C major goes to A minor

the answer is A MINOR. its six up from the dominant.

It has the same notes but a different starting pitch. Just go down 2 steps. A minor.

(when I say steps I mean notes)

ignore wrong answer above!
its the sixth note of the major scale. From the TONIC not the DOMINANT!
Or go down from the top three semitones.
thus C........it will me A minor.

when you want to find the relative minor of a major key, it's always a minor third form the tonic of the major key. in C major's case, it's A minor. Another way is to look at the key signatures. A certain minor key which has the same number of a certain major key is the relative minor of that particular key. so, since C major has no sharps and flats and so does A minor, then A minor is the relative major to C major.

I was always taught, go down a tone and a semitone from the root of any major scale to find the relative minor.

To find the relative major of any minor scale, it's the other way - up a tone and a semitone.
