What is the greatest piece of music by Ralph Vaughan Williams?!

Question: I love his style - the fantastic and sometime sombre violin sways... The Lark Ascending is my favourite, are there any others you know are as good, or better?

I only know some but I like what I've heard.
The first thing I ever heard was The Talllis Fantasia.I was driving down A1 very early as dawn broke across a misty landscape, magical !. I have the 1976 LPO Sir Adrian Boult version. On the same CD, I like the Folk Song Suite , The Wasps( overture) and The Lark Ascending. From the fantasia I developed a liking for Tallis especially Spem in allium

Personally, I find The lark Ascending a little over exposed - it seems to be played every day on Class FM here in the UK. My favourite pieces would have to be his Symphony No. 5 and his vocal piece 'Pilgrim's Progress'

I am a big fan of VW's music. My favorite piece would have to be the Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis. Overall he is my favorite English composer. I am also very fond of his third symphony (the Pastoral) it exemplifies the romantic English idiom. The incidental music to the Wasps is a nice contrast to the aforementioned pieces - it is light hearted and delightful, proof that not every piece of consequence has to be profound and grave.

The Lark Ascending -preferably interpreted by Nicola Benedetti!
