Does playing Guitar hero actully help you play the guitar better?!

Question: I heard it does i was curious

Answers: I heard it does i was curious

Hmm, I don't know. I would think that it's the other way around - if you already know how to play an instrument - any instrument - you'll probably be better at playing Guitar Hero than someone who has never picked up an instrument before. Just because you are used to sight reading and hand-eye coordination, etc.

I doubt that the game helps anyone to play guitar better, though. I tried playing guitar when I was a teenager, and I was terrible, honestly, there would be long pauses between chords and I had a hard time getting my left hand to get in position on the fret board, but I'm pretty good at Guitar Hero. I can sail through most hard songs without problem right now.
I played the piano growing up, my teenage daughter plays violin, and I do notice that the game is easier for us two than for those in my family with no musical background.

It has absolutely NO connection to actual guitar playing. Those who actually play guitar are worse at the game than those who have never picked one up.

no
guitar hero is just a game

but it may help a guitarist remember a tune of a song in guitar hero and cover it on a real guitar. because when u play guitar hero the guitar tunes stand out so its easy to hear and get the beat

No. If anything, it might help you learn timing. But not really. Often times, the keys on guitar hero don't line up with what is actually played on the guitar. For instance, I once played and had to hit 5 "chords" on guitar hero for a 3 chord riff. So it can mess you up too.
Also, the buttons are big, so your fingering will be sloppy trying to keep up with your play.

Whoever told you that is an idiot. If anything, it makes you worse.

Only years of practise on a REAL guitar will make you play better, although the game may encourage gamers to give the real thing a go.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Definitely not

I play Guitar Hero and real guitar, and I can tell you that Guitar Hero won't help you play guitar in the least.
