1. first off, decide on what you want to write about. it could be about a friend (ex. my friend's got braces), about love (ex. broken heart), about you (ex. happy, happy, dance, dance), about a weird hobby (ex. why collecting lizards is fun), anything under the sun, basically.

2. try to get a place where you can write that song. for example, under a tree rooted right in the middle of green pastures, beside rushing waters or calm rivers, even under the rain...but be sure to use (or invent) waterproof paper! kidding. :))

3. be yourself... don't try to be like anyone else when writing that precious song. express YOURSELF.

4. try to get inspiration! like...a cute little bunny hopping in the rain puddles...

5. also, try to start with a poem, then add a tune to it. then, based on the tune you've created, take out or add words to fit the timing and everything.

6. take your time. of course, when it needs to be passed to someone, example for school or anything, start far enough. but when writing it for time to pass, just take your time. don't put pressure on yourself.

7. also try to remember that a good song comes from the heart. put your whole self into it gal!

8. oh, and then test it! try and see if it sounds good

9. ask for others' opinions about it. be open to comments and criticism. try to remember though that you can't please everybody...on the bright side, remember this: YOU CAN'T DISPLEASE EVERYBODY as well.

10. lastly, don't be too hard on yourself if you make mistakes- everybody does!

good day!

I dont get your question Iim sorry please clarify I'd like to help.

You can write a song about your lovelife, which really has touched people from all over the world. i made a simple song how to love a woman and they were good. others said they were...i hope I helped!

think of an idea or emotion, dress it words no one has used before, and relate it terms that anyone could understand.

I am a songwriter, and I write in a variety of ways. It helps if you can play an instrument like a piano.

Sometimes songs just come to me out of thin air. Other times I have to force them out.

I usually work with a key board (piano) and experiment with different ideas.

One thing that works well is to figure out a chord pattern in a song you like. Once you have that, you can just make up a different melody to go with those chords.

Or, you can start with a beat you like and put chords to it. Then develop a melody on top of it and add some words.

Make up melodies on an instrument. Don't be afraid to experiment and don't let it bother you if someone tries to discourage you. Ignore negative comments. Anyone can be a songwriter if they are determined to be.

Songwriting is lots of fun. Don't give up!

I don't know if this will help, but a good opening line to a song is important. Spinner.com has an audio and verbal list of the best 25 opening lyrics of all time. Even if this doesn't help, it is pretty cool!

I know I'm not answering the question at all...but I'm really angry!

I'm a composer, but usually, I'm bad at lyrics. Last night, I dreamed a song--full lyrics and everything. And they weren't half bad. Very simple, but it would have worked.

Now, I remember the chord progression vividly, but I can only remember two lines of lyrics. UGH!

Anyway.

Just write whenever your emotions are most intense. Considering that pop songs are mostly about love, this isn't too difficult to accomplish. If your lines begin to get repetitive, remember what your English teachers told you about imagery and stuff. However, repetition isn't a bad thing in many cases...in fact, that tends to be what ties a song together. Keep your choruses simple enough to be memorable, and maybe even a bit catchy. In the verses, try to maintain some sort of poetic structure.
rhymezone.com will also be a valuable asset.

As for composition, I'm afraid that if you want anything more than just a melody, you will need to know a little bit about chord progressions, and maybe even how to read and write music. To start, go to musictheory.net, and if you have any questions, ask me! I'll be happy to help (and it will help me devise lesson plans in case I end up teaching something like this).

Good luck! Again, message me with any questions.
