If u like Hip-hop u should like Atmosphere, DANGERDOOM (if u like adult swim),DJ Shadow, Gang starr, Blacklalicious just to name a few of my favorites. Most of it is pretty much underground Hip-hop but u can find it almost anywhere.
what about bands like Rage against the machine that are a rock band but with a raper type singer..

-lil wayne is also a favorite. im sure you have heard of the song 'apologize' by onerepublic? wayne made a remix to the song and its is AMAZING...check it out
-the beastie boys are classic and i love them to death. good ones from them are 'girls' 'brass monkey' and 'intergelatic'
-wyclef jean has a really good pink floyd cover of 'wish you were here'
ROCK:
-i recently fell in love with modest mouse...they have an original sound. songs like 'gravity rides everything' 'missed the boat' and 'trailer trash'
-john mayer has some kick *** songs. 'dreaming with a broken heart' 'no such thing'
-paramore is good too....'misery buisness' and pretty much all the songs on their new album RIOT
-there is an indie band called the spinto band who have a good song, 'oh mandy' out
-i also love classics like jimi hendrix(all along the watchtower, burning of the midnight lamp)...lynyrd skynyrd(tuesdays gone, freebird)...the beatles(EVERYTHING)...bob dylan...pink floyd...and you can never go wrong with led zeppelin
