I have'nt liked SOAD since 2001,I loved them when they first came out in 98 and now they just are'nt the same,they diluted too much and got into the popularity contest,I have'nt even listened to Serj's album either I just stick to their first album
I hope the next Slipknot is better than Vol 3 because I've been there since 99 and I just dont like the direction they went in Vol 3,they diluted alot too and it's sad that these bands that were really good years ago all of a sudden just fall off to sell a few more records,I used to love them both and they need to go back what it's all about-HEART-not sales and radio airtime,they can do better than what they have been ya know,no knock on you as a fan I'm just saying if you were there for 9 years you would feel the same

It's probably gonna be a greatest hits type of album if it is true. Maybe even some unreleased pre recorded stuff but they are not in the studio that I know of.
I haven't heard anything about a new album! They're on an "indefinate" break . . . Due to Daron Malakian getting too big for his boots and writing crap albums. He should've left Serj Tankian to it.
My friend is an administrator on a rock forum, and his fave band are SOAD . . . I'm sure if they were doing a new album, he'd know about it.

SOAD doesn't have one due out this year.. Daron's side project Scars on Broadway have one due out this year though.
Slipknot's new album doesn't have an exact date yet.. They are supposed to start recording this month and are aiming for a spring release.
