What is Lupe Fiasco's reputation like?!
Question: I'm living in Japan, and I like Lupe Fiasco's music.
However, I have learned that there are people in the States who don't like him.
Personally, I don't understand why.
I'm guessing the reason why people don't like him is because he's different. Precisely the reason why I do like him.
(Different in the sense that he just doesn't fit into the "hip-hop" stereotype. He rides skateboards, and he's just... different. You know what I mean. You either like his differentness, or you hate it. Sorta like with Kanye, except they're different in different ways. lol)
Anyways, let me know if this is why some people don't like him.
PS. Please don't let this have anything to do with his faith. What I'm saying is, if you're gonna say you don't like him because he's Muslim, you don't need to write it.

a lot of his reputation is that he has been hailed by many hip-hoppers as the savior or the next in line of artists like hova, nas, biggie and so on. As a huge lupe fan it is discouraging when people that really don't know what they are talking about call Lupe the best thing since tupac when they don't know their hiphop history. IMO a lotta people hate on him because there is a strong following of people like you and me who can be irrational in their defense of lupe. Hes a real polarizing dude so your gonna get people who swear by him and you are going to get people who cannot stand him. It is uncommon to find a hater that can substantiate their argument against lupe with anything but he's a nerd, he's cocky, his lyrics arent that great... at the same time it can be equallly hard to find someone who can back up lupe with more than just he's different, he's smart, hes the best...
