They are great guitars but you are truly paying partly for the name. It goes like this. If you wanna get that standard hard rock/heavy metal sound with great playability buy a gibson LP plug into a marshall and voila you have a great sound. But you sound like eveyone else. I say experiment for yourself with equipment and create your own sound. You will save money and you will be original to boot.
I've had four of them...they are the best for the money
they are American made...go for the ones ranging from about $1200 to $2200 for the best value for the buck
even top end ESP's aren't even American made

If you want a Guitar for that much get a Rickenbacker
Fender are consistently Beautiful in Look and Sound.
did you know there's a marketing technique to over price things so the consumer thinks their getting a better product.
i think the esp gives the best bang for your buck$$$ play a 1000$ esp then play a 2500$ gibson see for your self
