Tina, you read my mind!! Either of those two are ALWAYS in CD player waiting!!

Folk-i.e.(Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, John Prine, Early Grateful Dead)

Smooth Jam-i.e. (Phish, Moe.,ALL Grateful Dead)

radiohead, zero 7, minus the bear, snow patrol.

Mine isn't actually country, byt anything by:

Adiemus, Enya, Moya Brennan, Clannad, Secret Garden, Eri Sugai, Sissel, Hayley Westenra, Libera, Aled Jones, Miriam Stockley, Karl Jenkins, Thomas Otten...

Norah Jones, Edith Piaf, Bob Marley, The Beatles

Strange as it may sound, for me it'd be something by Disturbed or Metallica. ^.^ I grew up listening to that kind of stuff, so that's what I like now.

Dave Matthews, Enya, anything that has really great musical progression.

Christian music. That soothes my soul:)

I love listening to All Country. Especially - Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Garth, Eddie Rabbit, The Judds, Tanya Tucker, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Pam Tillis, and of course Reba.

Peter Paul and Mary
Brothers Four
Chad Mitchell Trio
Kingston Trio

I LOVE the old country. The Statlers, Oak Ridge Boys, Loretta, Dolly. But if I can't find that station then 1980's soft rock works for me.

I LOVE old country but if you really want to sooth my should put on the sounds of nature of some Native American Indian music I find it so beautiful! Old Country is the BOMB though it takes me back to the days of my Momma ironing with her little Pepsi bottle with the little shaker cork thing in it she would shake that thing on the clothes and wet them and then shake real hard and then roll them up and put them in the basket before she ironed them. I don't know why but my aunts and Grandmothers both did it too! But she always had the country music going and she would sing along Hank Williams Sr. and all those people I remember...

Bluegrass !!!
I'll turn it up and get lost in the different voices of the instruments. Tear apart the runs.... observe the meter changes... learn new ways of playing the songs I've been doing for years.
If I've got my headphones on and my eyes closed, my wife nudges me and asks me to listen to her !... I learned long ago, the two best words for a man to learn so that the marriage is a success........... "Yes, Dear" !!!!

Country and Old rock-n-roll

Listening to Stoney Larue....he has the best voice.

Anything by George Jones,Merle Haggard, like older Country.

ALWAYS MERLE!!! He is the best. And I agree with you about the old Country. There's nothing better.

But I would have to say Charlie Rich as my second choice. After a long day, I like to go home, whip up a Jim Beam and Diet Sprite, and put on my old 33 albums. Charlie Rich is an absolute must for my moods.

Great question!!! ^_^
