Specifically :-), William Orville “Lefty” Frizzell picked up the lifelong nickname of "Lefty" as a pre-teen in school by decking a schoolmate with his LEFT hand.
he was a scrapper in school and always lead with his left,also did some boxing m,hence lefty!
I don't know, but my uncle got it by sticking his right hand in a lion's mouth.
He had a mean left hook,and was a semi-pro boxer for a few years,although I forget his record,it was pretty impressive with over 40 wins.
